How to Sell a House Without an Estate Agent
Selling your house privately or otherwise known as FSBO (for sale by owner) is becoming an increasingly popular method of home selling.
There are many potential benefits for a seller to sell without an estate agent, most notably the thousands of pounds they are likely to save.
This may come as a surprise to you, but selling your home privately is far easier than you may think.

There are three common reasons why homeowners decide to take selling their property into their own hands.
Saving money:
Estate agents in the UK typically charge 2-3% of a sale price. This figure - on average - can be anything between 3,000 to 6,000 pounds and can be considerably greater on more expensive property.
Price:
A private house is likely to sell for about the same value as if you sold your property through an estate agent; this is because it is the market which determines value and not the buyer or estate agent. Selling your house privately is even more effective in a seller's market where many people search for homes and finding a suitable buyer is much easier.
Although you may sell at around about the same price with an estate agent as you would privately, there are much lower costs when you sell independently meaning more cash in your pocket upon completion and quite often a faster and more efficient sale.

Personal difficulties:
Others may have even more compelling reason to sell privately, for example if they are experiencing financial difficulties and need to sell fast or have little/negative equity in their home.
Selling privately can often result in a quicker and more efficient sale. If speed and time is of the essence for your sale, selling privately may be more beneficial to you.
